Sweden is currently considering legislation that would require messaging apps like Signal and WhatsApp to create "backdoors" for law enforcement to access encrypted communications. This proposal aims to allow police and security services to retrospectively review message histories of crime suspects. But how can we know this will be used ONLY on crime suspects? And how can we know activism, jouenliasm and simple opinions expressed online will not be seen as a crime in the near future? Let’s explore more.
