Two weeks ago I reported that the UK government has issued a secret order under the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA) demanding that Apple provide access to users' encrypted iCloud data. This move challenges Apple's longstanding commitment to user privacy and its refusal to create backdoors into its encryption systems.
